A phinisi under sail at sunset on flat water

Four days is where both halves stop being compromises.

One to two independent days at Riung, then overland west and onto a chartered phinisi for Komodo.

In short

A workable four-day plan is one to two days at Riung arranged locally, then overland to Labuan Bajo and a private phinisi for the Komodo leg.

  • Riung is booked on the ground; Komodo is booked ahead.
  • Phinisi charter is priced per boat, not per person.
  • Entrance fees differ sharply between the two parks.

The four days

How it actually splits

One transfer day is unavoidable. Everything else is on the water.

Two tariffs

The fee difference is not small

Riung asks a local retribusi reported at Rp 5,000 to Rp 100,000 per person. Komodo charges Rp 250,000 flat for foreign visitors under PP No. 36/2024, plus a ranger fee of about Rp 150,000 per group.

Budget them separately. They are different parks under different agencies and nothing carries over.
