Wooden boats drawn up on the shore at Riung under an orange dusk sky

Two couples make a boat cost what a seat costs elsewhere.

How cost splitting actually works on a Riung charter, and the group size where it stops mattering.

In short

Splitting one charter between four people brings the day to a quarter of the boat price each, well under any advertised seat price.

  • The boat price barely changes with headcount.
  • Four is where the arithmetic gets good.
  • Six to ten is the comfortable ceiling.

The split

What each group size actually pays

One standard wooden boat chartered for the day, divided.

Two people

Half the boat each. At this size a seat on someone else's boat is usually the better buy.

Four people

A quarter each, and you control the route and the timing. This is the sweet spot.

Eight people

An eighth each, but the deck is full and the snorkel stops become a queue.

Before you split

Agree the money on land

Settle who pays the captain and how the retribusi is handled before anyone boards. It is a small amount and a reliably awkward conversation at the pier.

Agree the route together too. Four people who wanted different islands is how a good day turns into a compromise.
