Stalls and produce at a traditional market in Flores

Budgeting

Build the budget from the boat down.

How to turn published ranges into a number you can actually carry in cash.

In short

The boat is the only large and variable cost at Riung — everything else lands in a narrow, predictable band, so budget the boat first and the rest follows.

  • Boat: ask for price, then split by group size.
  • Room and food: roughly Rp 250,000 a day.
  • Carry the whole trip in cash from Bajawa or Ende.

The honest caveat

These are ranges, not quotations

No official Riung tariff sheet exists. The entrance figures come from independent Indonesian reporting, not from a published tariff. Boat rates we do not publish at all — ask on the day.

Add twenty per cent to whatever you calculate. Not because the numbers are wrong, but because there is nowhere to draw more cash.
