The market
Small and daily, busiest in the morning. Produce, fish and the things a household needs — not souvenirs.

The town
What Riung is actually like to stay in — the market, the signal, the language, and what happens after dark.
Riung is a small coastal sub-district town in Ngada Regency with a population of about 16,940 (BPS 2023), basic homestays, a small market and no resort development.

Homestays and guesthouses in town, most within walking distance of the harbour. Fan-cooled, simple, clean.

After dark
A handful of warungs serve until eight or nine. There is no bar scene, no nightlife and the power is not always on.
Bring a torch and download anything you need before you arrive. Mobile data is slow and outages are routine.
Riung boats are arranged locally, at the pier. For the Komodo leg or a full Flores itinerary, the reservations desk answers on WhatsApp.
