Komodo near Riung
A small population is documented on Ontoloe by camera trap. Everything beyond that claim is where other sites start guessing.

Why it matters
Varanus komodoensis is usually described as confined to Komodo National Park and a strip of west Flores. A population this far east complicates that, which is why the camera-trap work exists at all.
For a visitor the practical consequence is small: treat Ontoloe as habitat you pass, not a place to land and look.
Riung boats are arranged locally, at the pier. For the Komodo leg or a full Flores itinerary, the reservations desk answers on WhatsApp.
